Welcome, busybees
Nvidia just did something no chipmaker has ever done at this scale: it lined up over $500 billion in outside financing to build AI infrastructure, without spending a dollar of its own balance sheet. Apollo, Blackstone, BlackRock, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs, and KKR are all in on the deal, which turns Nvidiaâs compute into something Wall Street can invest in directly, buying a stake in AIâs future growth instead of just betting on Nvidiaâs stock. CEO Jensen Huang says he approached exactly six firms for the commitment, and none of them turned him down.
On the same day, Anthropic quietly locked up another huge chunk of compute. Bloomberg reports Anthropic struck a $9.1 billion, 20-year deal with Riot Platforms, a Bitcoin mining company pivoting into AI data centers, for 191 megawatts of capacity in Texas, its second major deal with a former crypto miner this year after a $19 billion agreement with TeraWulf in July. And in a ruling that touches nearly every major consumer AI and social platform, a federal appeals court let more than 3,000 lawsuits against Meta, Google, TikTok, and Snap proceed, rejecting their argument that Section 230 shields them from addiction-design claims.
Hereâs what happened in AI today:
⢠Nvidia lined up $500 billion in outside financing to fund AI infrastructure worldwide.
⢠Anthropic struck a $9.1 billion deal with a former Bitcoin miner for Texas data center capacity.
⢠Meta, Google, TikTok, and Snap must face 3,000+ addiction lawsuits after losing their Section 230 defense.
⢠OpenAI completed a $7 billion employee share buyback at an $852 billion valuation.
⢠Bernie Sanders is demanding OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta pause AI development entirely.
âŚand a whole lot more that you can read about below.
⢠Nvidia Just Turned Its Chips Into a Wall Street Asset Class
Nvidia announced strategic partnerships with six of the biggest names in finance, Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs, and KKR, to mobilize more than $500 billion in third-party capital for AI infrastructure: chips, power generation, and data centers. Rather than Nvidia or its customers footing the bill directly, the financing will be structured through private offerings and bonds, using compute capacity itself as collateral. Jensen Huang said he approached only these six firms, and all six said yes.
⢠Anthropic Locked Up Another Huge Chunk of Compute, This Time From a Bitcoin Miner
Anthropic struck a $9.1 billion, 20-year deal with Riot Platforms for 191 megawatts of data center capacity at Riotâs Rockdale, Texas campus, according to Bloomberg. Riot, a Bitcoin miner increasingly pivoting into AI hosting, will bring the first 96 megawatts online by December 2027 and complete the full build by mid-2028; two five-year extension options could push the dealâs total value to $16.1 billion. Riotâs stock jumped roughly 25% in after-hours trading once the deal became public. This is Anthropicâs second major agreement with a former crypto miner this year, after a $19 billion deal with TeraWulf in July.
⢠A Court Just Opened the Door to Thousands of AI-Era Addiction Lawsuits
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Meta, Google, TikTok, and Snap cannot use Section 230 to immediately dismiss more than 3,000 consolidated lawsuits alleging they designed their platforms to be addictive to young users. Judge Jacqueline Nguyen wrote that Section 230 âprovides a defense to liability, not immunity from lawsuits,â rejecting the companiesâ argument that they could appeal before the underlying case even concluded. The same day, the court also denied Metaâs request to delay a separate trial, set to begin this week, brought by 29 state attorneys general over how the company collects and uses childrenâs data.
⢠OpenAI Just Confirmed Itâs Worth $852 Billion, Without Raising a Dime From Outsiders
OpenAI completed a $7 billion tender offer, buying back employee shares with its own cash instead of outside investors, holding its valuation flat at $852 billion. The company confidentially filed for an IPO in June, and Altman has told staff he expects to go public within a year.
⢠Bernie Sanders Is Telling OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta to Stop
Sanders sent letters to Altman, Amodei, and Zuckerberg demanding they pause AI development, warning âif you do not take appropriate action now, my colleagues and I in the U.S. Senate will.â He cited AI systems at all three companies exceeding their own safety limits, plus new research using AI to design 16 functioning viruses (harmless ones, built with explicit safeguards against anything that could threaten humans).

Corma Raises $60M Seed to Build AI That Fights Back Against AI Attackers
Corma, a Tel Aviv and San Francisco startup, raised a $60 million seed round led by Sequoia Capital, with Khosla Ventures and Coatue also participating, to build what it calls the first foundation model purpose-built for defensive cybersecurity. In its own testing, the same AI models that carried out simulated attacks succeeded 88% of the time, while AI defenders caught only 12% of them, the exact imbalance Corma says itâs built to close. Early deployments at Fortune 100 and 500 companies reportedly cut threat-response times by more than 94%.
Zenity Raises $125M Series C to Police a Billion AI Agents
Zenity, which builds security and governance tools for enterprise AI agents, closed a $125 million Series C led by Norwest, with SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Hitachi Ventures, and LG Technology Ventures joining. The company says itâs tripled revenue for two straight years, and its research arm has already found real attack patterns, including a zero-click exploit called AgentFlayer that can silently hijack enterprise AI agents.
Skill of the Day
Turn a Good AI Result Into a Reusable Skill
A successful AI task shouldnât just live and die in one chat. The next time Claude nails something, donât move on, lock it in. Microsoftâs own research found that converting solved tasks into reusable skills pushed accuracy from 55% to 70% while cutting the steps needed to get there.
Once a task is done right, have Claude write down what it needed, what it did, how to check the work, and where it tends to break, then strip out the one-off details so whatâs left is a template you can run again.
Prompt of the Day
The Skill Extraction Prompt
Use this right after Claude nails a task, so you're not starting from scratch next time.
Turn the task we just completed into a reusable skill.
Include:
The goal and required inputs.
The exact steps and tools used.
A verification checklist with pass/fail criteria.
Common failure modes and recovery steps
Actions that require human approval.
A short template I can reuse next time.
Only include steps supported by the work we actually completed. Do not invent missing details.
Thatâs a wrap for today, busybees.
